Meryl was once an elf, despite his current appearance. When the land was facing darker forces it's chosen savior refused to properly put an end to it when faced with their own morals. After endlessly trying to convince the chosen light to do her purpose and end the decay. He tried to push her, only for the decay to show up and infect himself. Meryl tried to last as long as he could before finally he and the light got into a fight, and cast himself into the ocean in a desperate attempt to stop himself from becoming worse. Everything from before the encounter is blank as his body is moved by the waves.
After an unknown period of time Meryl felt himself coming back into consciousness, but he was in a fish net on a boat?? Why was there a tall blond guy staring at him judgmentally with a bow?
Meryl is usually the kindest person you meet, however if something reminds him of his nonexistent past memories he will become a dull individual. True anger only shows itself when something reminds him of the light's "savior."
