Rei Allen Yamane

Personality: 

Rei usually tends to be outgoing and a bit of a sass when he needs to. He enjoys joking around and messing with people a bit, but he doesn't do it very often, unless he's more familiar with the other. He's very easily attached, but tries to not let his developed feelings overwhelm him. Generally, Rei tends to be very open and accepting and loves to spend time with those he loves and enjoys getting to know others. He's normally very energetic, given his positive disposition, but this is all to hide and mask an inner self conflicting bitterness that resides within him. Though he often appears to be fine, his true feelings aren't as apparent as his out right, immediate reactions. Although, he seems happy and a bit oblivious to things, he's simply feigning his optimistic outlook with the constant facade he tends to wear, often concealing himself as he truly feels. As he ages, his happy-go-lucky demeanor drifts more into his natural spite and a cold, fierce disposition.

Sassy Snark - He tends to be sharply direct and critical, all while keeping up a playful, charmingly entertained demeanor. He often shows this side when he's more comfortable and familiar.

Bitter Cold - While Rei likes to keep things nice and playful, he often tends to use this as a method to conceal his true feelings; He's actually very bitter and can be easily taken aback, so he may get quite distant and shut off his expressive reactions when he feels a lackluster, unpleasant connection.

Backstory and History: 

Rei grew up in a fairly large family, which consisted of his two parents and well over 5 siblings. They were all born and raised within their family house which was vastly spread out from most bustling society which often kept them in peaceful solitude. Their home was located outside the mouth of a well placed cave that conveniently sat alongside the mountains from within the depths of a forest, which eventually branched out from the civilization outskirts into a neighboring city's park. Rei would normally venture out on his own and often go much farther than the woods and mountainside, as well as beyond the park and wander the city itself, as he was always curious and wanted to know more of the world around him and not feel so limited by his own upbringing. Though they were protective and always weary for him, his parents never had any issues letting him go out and around much on his own because he had always made it back to them safely. This also made him more familiar with his surroundings and helped him develop the skills to survive in the conditions he had to deal with and face on his expeditions. Through all the trips he had been able to set out on his own, Rei was able to meet a lot of new people and eventually learn more about them- Eventually making friends, which helped him feed into his immense curiosity and develop more of his own interests.

As a child who often went out on his own, Rei enjoyed the company of people close to him. He spent most of his childhood with his friends and those he was able to associate with openly, mainly his childhood crush, Reini. He would often go out with him and hunt for treasures, usually on the beach and occasionally within the deep sea itself. Normally accompanying Rei and Reini on their little trips and adventures was Koa, who had been the oldest out of them and tried his best to act as a sort of chaperone to their seemingly endless antics and risky activities, but never limited himself to not joining them as well. They were all very close and were rarely seen separate from eachother, especially since they and their families had known eachother since and before they were all born. However, as Rei grew up, with his surroundings and perspective changing as well, he and his friends grew farther apart. He wasn't able to handle the separation and distance between them for very long at all... With his normally innocent, yet high maintenance curiosity and bright demeanor only fading away as things progressively changed, as he changed, he wasn't able to take well to himself when he noticed his friends had troubles and didn't let him know much, or played it off casually, often leading him to feel disconnected and lonesome. He didn't want to make a commotion about how he felt either, so he kept these feelings to himself. 

As Rei let himself drown in his own ignorance and continued to conceal his own struggles as well, eventually, his fearful concerns dragged out to a point where all his worries and doubts took hold and swallowed who he was. He wasn't able to focus on what had been most important to him, and by the time he had been able to notice anything- it was too late. Reini's problems played off in the worst of ways, he-- one of his dearest friends in the world-- was gone, and Rei was beyond devastation. He felt he could do nothing, he knew he did nothing, and couldn't see any other precise cause as to why things happened exactly as they did. He did not blame himself for his own decisions, but he did blame himself for not even being able to influence his dearly beloved friend's decision- Reini's choice was inevitable, but Rei couldn't accept the weight of it all on his own. He couldn't accept he had lost him, his best friend who he would by no means set boundaries for, as the extent he felt for him was limitless. Rei couldn't accept the reality of what had happened, ultimately blaming his own ignorance and lack of awareness in his incapability from persuading Reini out of his final decision. From then on, he felt ashamed of his ways and would be for a long time. He did put an effort to hide his grief and the disdain he felt for his actions, and as a result, he had let himself develop a lax, carefree attitude. 

Over the years, as he got older, Rei had made many friends and met those he still holds very dear. As a sort of way to distract himself from his own needs, and possibly eventually accept them, he decided to take on a more personal responsibility- He decided to have kids, to try and build a family, to surround himself constantly around those he cares for and loves, unconditionally. He normally tended to all his children, caring for them and raising them and providing them support until he was no longer able and they eventually ventured out on their own. Gradually over time, this kept him content for a brief while, but the feeling disintegrated as soon as it finally settled in. In older age, he tends to be a bit more cold, and sharply direct, so he often looks down upon things he sees as trivial and childish. After living with himself for a while, he resolves to using his recollection of experiences and struggles as a perpetual guide in order to handle life and breathe on.

Some random info and Trivia:

- Rei's hair is his pride and joy, and tends to be just as long as he is tall, if not grown out longer. He stands at 7'8", and normally grows his hair past this length out of personal preference- He'll rarely cut it nor allow it to stay no less past his shoulders. He normally wears it down, but has no issues putting it up either, as he prefers to be the only one to take care of it and maintain it all, himself. Only very few, specific people are ever allowed to touch his hair for any particular reason- He becomes a fussy wreck, otherwise.

- Rei is Fertile Intersex. With this, he's able to biologically parent all his children, himself. He prefers to make well use of all his... assets.

- Rei's Greatest Fear is losing everyone he loves dearly to death and being left alone. The fact that any sort of loss besides merely death, regardless, is inevitable, cripples him, even more so.

- He's very clingy, and tends to show it in various ways. Be it literal physical actions or through words expressing any sort of attachment, normally, he'll simply be sticking around til he becomes too much of a nuisance, but regardless; It's very difficult to get rid of him. Especially once he's already decided for himself.

- He has a pet rock Named BJ(Bob Lynne Jackson), he keeps her in his satchel.

- Rei LOVES the color Pink. Do not taunt or disapprove of this, or you'll never hear the end of it from him. He makes it a point to always wears atleast one Pink Clothing item, be it clothes or accessories(shirt, scarf, hat, etc).

 - His favorite food/snack is actually Human leg, but he has a tendency to cook and consume a lot of beef, usually steak. He also enjoys baking sweets- such as cakes, cookies, and pastries, etc. Otherwise, besides frying and grilling beef, that's all else he's generally good for, while cooking- He can't even make out a prepped box of mac n cheese.

- Rei has a mental list of people he considers //"Close Friends and Awesome/Not Food, Ever"// and others he wouldn't mind snacking on. He goes down this list every once in a while, but not too often. He prefers to stalk out buffets and clean them out of stock.

- As he is a dragon born of specific elemental abilities, he's able to breathe fire, but he also has a miscellaneous ability to manipulate his embers and emulate multiple colors. He tends to refer to this as 'skittle breath' in reference to all the various hues representing those of a rainbow, as well as the candy itself in particular.

- Rei normally carries a bottomless satchel where he keeps many things varying from small chests and coolers, accessories, miscellaneous nick knacks and has even been known to pull things as large as a house out, if not literally a house. This bag of his is very heavy, regardless of all the contents it seems to be holding. Rei is apparently the only one able to lift and carry it around with ease... It seems to be charmed, but no one really truly knows... Not even Rei, himself.

- His appetite knows no boundaries as Rei is able to eat, and eat a lot to the point where even buffets cannot supply enough food to keep him full. He's only able to maintain his figure because of his insanely vigorous metabolism and excessively active lifestyle.
