Dioniros Balsaltros was born in an age searching for heros. As a young boy he began seeking his fame at a time when becoming a hero almost always ended gloriously and tragically, and he never expected to be any different. However that changed when he met Mars. Mars was a human man around the equivilant of his own age, and the two bonded immediately. They began adventuring together and made a name for themselves as a pair of incredibly capable and lethal heroes, while all the while Dio was falling in love. They fought in wars together and after a massive act of heroic prowess, Mars was given the opportunity to ascend to godhood. Dio, who had never told him his true feelings for his friend, encouraged him to take the chance. After all, it was everything both of them had ever wanted, right? It's been hundreds of years since that day, and not one second has passed since then that Dio doesn't regret. He became Mars' First Champion, a paladin of his glory, and that kept him alive. Now Dio is getting on in years and seeing the passage of time around him starting to leave him behind, and each day he grows further from his devotion. He can't seem to let go of the love he once had for his friend, though, or break his last tie to him.
