Bexley

PRONOUNS: They/them

Bexley is a bubbly dinbot that used to be owned by an upper-middle class suburban nuclear family. Bex practically raised their daughter (of whom they became incredibly close to) and maintained the household perfectly... they were their perfect little servant. Until the parents divorced... the two of them could not decide who got to keep the dinbot and decided to just... let them go. Public opinion of keeping robots was rapidly changing and they decided it was most likely for the better. Just like that, Bexley was completely on their own. Leaving the daughter was devastating - however, despite basically having a parental role in her life, they didn't have any rights to her and didn't even get to say goodbye.

While under that previous ownership, Bex's "domestic bliss" persona had started developing in accordance to what was expected of them. However, at the same time, a second "fed up with this miserable world, shaking fist at cloud" personality was developing, and it would take over at random. While trying desperately to live on their own in a world that barely recognized them as a person, this second personality was highly detrimental to the effort to make connections. 

One day, they learned about Industikurium, a world newly available to outsiders - a world entirely run by robots who recognized dinbots as an official "species" that could gain citizenship and receive universal income - and realized that maybe they could finally turn over a new leaf and survive alongside others on a similar journey! They set their sight specifically on the region of Cambrilogica, an open-minded futuristic paradise (or, at least, that was the reputation). Here, they felt comfortable and their "domestic bliss" persona came out tenfold, charming everyone around them until they finally landed a real job at Trudy's company.

Sometimes the miserable personality still sneaks its way out, and every time someone manages to get hurt (whether it's just a slightly rude comment or something nastier). Without fail, Bexley beats themselves up over it. They have a few "incident reports" and even a "warning" on file due to this...

Especially at first, Bexley would retreat to private places to grieve the sudden distance from the daughter they raised. They snap themselves out of it by reassuring themself that they can meet up again someday once she's older (hopefully she'll be willing).

They LOVE the finer things in life and especially love going to the beach. Their torso has unfortunately been permanently sunbleached around the bikini they wore on a week-long beach vacation and now they're trying to sunbleach the rest. They will often have their office embellished with flowers, cutesy and kitschy knickknacks, and "live laugh love"-type signs. To save money, they eventually became roomates with their coworker Yama and they secretly have a crush on him. They collaborate often with Omri and have found themself crushing on him pretty bad - it seems that they develop crushes quite often. Is very friendly with their coworker Alfie, often spending mornings and lunch breaks with each other! 

Bex wishes desperately that they had been made as a cog, or were a creature-of-the-earth, as their own capabilities are simplistic compared to their peers... those around them reassure them often that they are wonderful the way that they are and they are glad that Bex is around. [:
