Avain is a background character for Expiration Date. He's mutated after being in the pit too long. At night, his eyes turn a shade of red, claws elongate, and he's even more irritable than normal. Eyes will flash a brighter red if he's about to attack. Has sharp teeth. Doesn't speak, instead makes a series of clicking, growling, and snake-like hissing noises as well as exaggerated facial expressions. In the day, he does errands for meat, as he can't catch his own food. To signal that he's got a sort of contract with somebody, he'll draw a line in the dirt. They'll need to cross it and make it an 'X'. Once both sides are satisfied, the 'X' will be replaced by a circle. Will go in and out of the shadow as needed. He is never happy with IOUs.
