backstory

as a young girl, hiuying spent her days admiring the scenery and life of her hometown, qiaoying village. she wrote so many poems to the point there were just stacks... and stacks... of parchment laying around her room. she came up with choreography for many of her poems. when winter came the lakes nearby were frozen, and hiuying would skate, and dance on those lakes.

[several years later]
one day in the winter, hiuying was practicing skating on the frozen lake as usual. but on this fateful day a terrible accident would happen. life would never be the same after this. suddenly, a pack of xuanwen beasts emerged from the nearby trees and attacked her. hiuying screamed for help, but her soft voice couldn't make it very far. she was then knocked unconscious by the beasts. the beasts then brought her far away. the beasts only took interest in her because they thought she was related to an unnamed adeptus they had thought they had recognized.
... she was brought to a frigid cave where she was abandoned. it was far away from home. having been out in the cold for several hours now, her body temperature was very low. her hands were completely red from the cold. when she finally regained consciousness some unknown pattern of gray flowers slowly appeared on her arms and legs. her jet black hair lost its color, it became gray, then white. only four strands remained its original dark color. the freezing girl didn't know what to do. she was far from home in the wilderness... her family had to be worried sick. she buried her face into her hands and cried, but then a glowing blue orb appeared in her frigid hands and stopped her tears. whatever this was, it was a blessing. hiuying's strength was now regained and she began to make the journey home.

it was weeks after the incident, and hiuying was recovered. however, something didn't feel right. she tried to dance in her room... but her body would freeze if she did. she tried again, in the usual places she danced and skated at in the village. the same thing happened. somehow, she was cursed. hiuying was heartbroken. the pain was too much for her to bear. the next day, she packed her bags and said the unexpected goodbye to her friends and family. as she walked she looked out into the horizon, knowing there's better for her out there.
