Moonstone

Mother to Obsidian, Sapphire, and tbn

Personality: Moonstone herself is a very kind and generous cat. She is quite the motherly figure and is always there for her family. 

Name meaning: She was named after a moonstone due to the specks of light purple in her fur and the way her fur sparkled in the light. 

Background: Before she had kits, Moonstone was the family's gemstone seller. She would go to different families, selling all types of gemstones and sometimes making tailored gemstones outfits for the higher families. In return, she would ask for small trades such as food, materials, and an occasional favor. Her mother always wished she'd raise her prices and that their gemstones weren't for "charity cases." However, Moonstone frequently disregarded her mother's disapproval of her work and kept her prices low to spread her love of gemstones to everyone. Moonstone's mother and her have a bit of a strained relationship if you can't tell. But Moonstone knows it's from a place of love and takes her mother's harsh words time after time.

Moonstone unfortunately had to reduce her sales when she was pregnant with Sapphire's older brother, Obsidian. And had to completely stop when Sapphire was born just a year and a half after her brother. She always wanted to go back to it, but she she knew her kits needed her and wanted to fully be there for them. She, of course, had her loving husband providing food and security for their family and even offered to watch over their kits so she could continue her work. But Moonstone knew it was taboo for the mother to not be the sole caregiver of kits in their group, and her mother would surely disapprove of it. So she declined his offer. She was satisfied as long as she had her loving husband by her side. Unfortunately, he would die just after Sapphire turned one year old and her life completely shattered right in front of her. She was left a widower and a shell of her former self.

Fun Facts: 

1) Moonstone and Sapphire's dad married young and have known each other since kithood. 

2) Obsidian was an unplanned pregnancy while Sapphire was planned 

3) Moonstone's family has for some reason only been able to have one kit litters and this has happened for the past 4 generations!
