Physical Description

Well built body with a small waist. Plenty of scars due to his job; most noticeable across his left brow and lower left jaw. Eyes were a dark red before he became a Witcher but now are the typical orangish-yellow snake eyes. Has sides of hair and back of the head buzzed down. All other hair is combed back with volume. Skin is olive-toned. Square jaw with a fading goatee. Wears School of the Cat gear, being all black and grey with a single burgundy wrap around his waist.

Speech

No particuliar accent. Speaks in a laid back, quiet but commanding tone.

Mental & Emotional

A bit of an oddball for a Witcher and out of all those still remaining, is the one most often seen wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Doesn't believe in the existence of Gods.

Daily Life/Health

When not with his family, he's fixing up his school's keep. He has no physical ailments.

Powers/Abilities

Standard Witcher abilities. However, instead of two swords, he prefers twin blades. He does still use swords but has a more agile fighting style.

Background/Story

Born in a small village in Velen, he was saved from Drowners at a young age and was taken back to the School of the Cat to be subsequently trained and go through the Trial of the Grasses. He went through life as every Witcher did, trying to get by while spending his days looking over his shoulder. Cograc was in such a horrible mental state that he attempted to end his life. A young woman, who cleaned the rooms in the inn he was staying in, stopped the knife from taking its fatal plunge. The two began courting soon after and eventually married. During this process, he disappeared from any links he had while being a Witcher. Cograc slowly stopped accepting contracts, accompanying other Witchers or even coming to their aid. His fellow Witcher, Geralt of Rivia assumed him dead after several years of not seeing him and so his name faded into the long list of those who didn't make it. All the while, he was making himself a family and a home.

Cograc had a wife and a modest house with good land but was missing one final thing; children. Since Witchers were sterile, he paid for expensive artifical insemination in Oxenfurt. Jhon, his wife, successfully had three children this way. Although they lost their only son to disease, both daughters are growing to adulthood without incident. He happily lived almost twenty years this way, in pleasant isolation and family happiness.

After this peaceful period, he heard word of a severe attack on Kaer Morhen where the Witchers there would certainly be killed if help didn't arrive. Unable to turn his back on Geralt and let him die knowing he could aid them, he came out of hiding and helped purge the onslaught. Afterward, Geralt was furious Cograc hadn't shown himself all these years because he had assumed he was dead. Although Geralt was mostly private about these frustrations, it was quite clear to Cograc that his old friend felt betrayed. It was also quite clear that no matter how far he ran, his past would catch up with him eventually. Because of this, he came out of retirement. He wouldn't be fully working but he also wouldn't be completely invisible in the Witcher world. After helping in small ways at Kaer Morhen, he decided to start out on a new path where he could help his own school.

Today, he is attempting to rebuild the School of the Cat's keep. He has found another member, Cristina Dame, who has similiar aspirations. Together, they've taken in an orphan baby girl and are raising her to become the future child of the Cat School with milder and less painful mutations for a world where Witchers can exist to keep the monsters at bay. After all, they are a necessary evil. When not here, he's frequently visiting his family where they are hidden away from the world and all consequences of his occupation.

Trivia

• After he started to feel lost as a person, he tracked down his family roots and learned his family name. Although he no longer had any living relatives, he kept his surname and wears it proudly as this is something most Witchers have never known.

Personality

Tough exterior but made of sentimentality and love of family. He yearns for a normal life but can't seem to get out of the entanglements of his Witcher's curse. Prone to making impulsive decisions. If he decides he doesn't like them, he's more likely to run from them instead of facing consequences.
