Carter Boltway

Appearance

Carter is a tall elven man standing at 6'8” and fairly lean. He has long ears that reach past his forehead in length and long dark brown hair that is usually up in a French braid that reaches his rear and tails that frame his face. He has a slightly upturned nose a long face and droopy orange eyes. The ends of his hair are purple, including the tails on the sides of his face. He has two greyish purple stripes on either side of his neck and a similar color surrounds his eyes and four dots over his eyebrows. He has similar stripes one his arms, two on the upper and one on the lower. He has these stripes on his torso and legs as well, two pointed upward and one pointed downward on his upper hips on either side on his torso. And on his legs he has two on thighs and two on his calves.

Carter usually wears formal attire, he probably doesn’t own a casual shirt. He can usually be seen in a suit but if he’s not he’s most likely in a white dress shirt and formal pants or jeans.

Personality

 Carter is a very warm and open person. He is kind to everyone he meets no matter what the circumstances, even his harsher tone has a soft and caring edge. He has a smile for everyone and loves lending a helping hand. He lives for being around people and may come off as reserved while he is listening. He listens to others closely and carefully as to understand them. He lives for crowds and people and quickly becomes drained in a quiet atmosphere. While he isn’t always loud and outspoken he can be when the situation leads it to be so, especially when he’s drunk.

When Carter is drunk he keeps the care but talks more and speaks his mind. He easily falls for people not only while drunk but also sober. Though these feelings quickly fade and leave him full of regret shortly after when it comes to romantic feelings. When he is drunk this makes him more likely to cheat since he feels less emotion for his current partner and feels more for the lady in front of him. He regrets hurting anyone and blames himself for situations that may not completely be his fault.

Magic

 Carter is a dark caster, which means he can cast spells of manipulation and transform the area around him with a destructive force, if he had enough training. He has the genetics for shapeshifting but never looked into it, magic is not his interest.

History

Carter was born from an elven mother and a human father who was the current governor of Tyfla at the time. His mother was his father’s third wife and the daughter of an official. She was in her mid-thirties when she had Carter and his father was in his late fifties. His father died from his reoccurring heart condition at sixty, leaving Carter’s mother to lead Tyfla. She always told Carter on how madly in love they were when recalling him. She led well enough carrying on the Boltway title and setting an example for the sole Boltway heir.

Carter was homeschooled till college where his mother insisted him to be sent to a public university to learn more about his people. Due to lack of publicity of the royal family only a select few people knew who Carter was and his position. He did extremely well in college but enjoyed the party life perhaps a bit too much. It did do as intended and he learned more about his people he would one day rule, but it also introduced him to a women who would later be his wife, Carrie. They met through a shared class but he claimed it was love at first sight with her. He quickly introduced himself and they became good friends when Carter was 20 and Carrie 21. It wasn’t till after Carter graduated did they start dating, getting married the year after, followed by Carter’s mother’s death. They didn’t have their first child, Griffin, till Carter was 27, and Carter adored Griffin almost more than his own wife. He loved both of them more than the air he breathed.

For five years after Griffin’s birth everything was nearly perfect for Carter until Carrie died. She always had poor health and her constant sickness eventually killed her. Carter was traumatized, the love of his life was now taken away from him, and in sorrow he turned to alcohol. The alcohol quickly turned into prostitutes and that was when the royal family decided to marry him off again to help him get out of his depression. A year later he was married to a decent women of whom he had two children with. But his lack of passion for her lead him to cheat while in a drunken state, thus they divorced.

He was married off 3 more times repeating the process for 14 years, leaving Carter with 7 children from different wives. On wife number 4 a woman he hooked up with while drunk gave him a baby girl making that wife leave and getting him stuck with a newborn.

During his depression his work began suffering, and while Griffin was able to pick up the slack Carter had created he began to feel more and guiltier, feeling useless and good for nothing, only sinking him deeper into depression.

• Carter has a love for children, he loves their little hands, voices, and happy smiles; if he sees a small child on the street he might gush over how cute they are
• His wallet is full of pictures of his kids and he’ll take it out to show people constantly
• He makes all of his mistakes while drunken, usually with other drunken women
• He tends to think people shorter than him are cute, meaning everyone
• He’s a borderline homophobe and gets really uncomfortable with the idea
• Marrying Carrie was a hassle because usually the royal heads marry officials/ lower royal family members, he had to fight a little for it
