BACKSTORY

Charivari is believed, by the sturnellan people, to be the direct descendant of their god. However, the lady of House Carnelian doesn't often grace them with her presence, turning down party invitations from even the kingdom's ruler. Instead she chooses to live out most of her days keeping to her mansion halls and pensively looking out toward the sea. She is aware of the dark creature that appears to her in the shadowed corners of the house, and believes it was called forth by her strong death-wish.

As the firstborn child of Nemovelle, Charivari (though she was known by a different name then) was treated with higher regard than her younger, near-immortal siblings. After the Rive split the world, a people who once turned to her found they were now without guidance. She fled, having lost something precious to her and began to crave her own death above all else. A way out of having to answer to the wishes of mortal-kind. This desire is what led her to seek a way to become mortal herself. She succeeded in that endeavor, so she thinks. She eventually becomes the wife to Morion through a marriage of convenience. Together they have a daughter, Dove. No longer in tune with her powers as a god, Chari learns that being mortal might not be all that she wished it would be. She carries an unspoken guilt from her past that weighs heavily upon her.
