Ethel

World/Universe I'm Inserting Him Into: What I like to call the Divine Beings Universe, where divine beings such as demons, angels, vampires, witches, sorcerers, et cetera exist within the human population. They are mostly controlled by a group of powerful demons and angels called the Association.

Name: Ethel

Age: 25 years 

Gender: Male

Personality: A wild, unpredictable spirit. He holds an adventurous and vagabond spirit, as well as is very loyal to his master. Ethel tends to be cocky and confident in himself, and looks down easily on others whom he deems as weaker than him. He can be seen as a bit reckless, throwing itself into situations whenever he thinks his master is in danger.

Backstory:

Ethel was borne as a demon wolf, something that most divine beings feared and recoiled against. Demon wolves were of a completely different divine species; requiring a Master to serve and follow with to be kept under control. Vagabond demon wolves with extreme power were often hunted down and killed for spot and duty as they could crow slowly insane by their lack of purpose and begin killing for their own sport. Demon wolves were born whenever there was a large concentration of negative emotion, therefore it being something completely unpredictable to see where they would be created. Most demon wolves were ordered to the death by the Association, whenever they could track sudden influxes of negative emotions. They posed the most danger during the humans' wars, as there would be massive increases of fear and hate during them.
Ethel was born from the emotion fear, after a oceanside village was attacked by rogue sirens. The Association immediately tracked down the influx of fear, and sent a demon named Giovanni to deal with the demon wolf as a sort of test of his abilities. The talented demon easily subdued the demonic wolf, and was about to kill it before he noticed the sheer amount of magical power inside of it as well as the fear the wolf presented. Although most demons failed to express compassion, Giovanni was yet still a rather young demon and hadn't used enough magic to dull his compassion.

So Giovanni let the demonic wolf take him as a Master, and they became fast companions. At first the Association was infuriated by Giovanni's unwillingness to kill the demon wolf, although he managed to slip past their punishments by explaining the power he could sense inside Ethel. They let the demon keep the demonic wolf, who would become his closest companion.

As Giovanni left the Association after his father was killed by what Giovanni knew was a false accusation to tampering with human lives, Ethel was the only companion he ever kept, one of the only creatures that Giovanni would ever truly care about. It was rare for a demon to feel compassion for any sort of creature, of their same species or not, or help them without themselves being helped from the situation.

Role:

Ethel's Master, Giovanni is called upon by a Siren/Human hybrid by the name of Aoki to retrieve her human father from the Association as he has learned too much of the divine beings. Although reluctant at first, as he understands even he couldn't stand against the Association, he decides to help her as he finds the hybrid 'interesting'. Ethel accompanies Giovanni and Aoki in their travels to the Association building which is nearly directly across the world.

Their first set of trials come when they are traveling through the subways which were built secretly for divine beings as Giovanni is called out by an Association officer for being the son of a demon who betrayed the Association and broke the precious law. In his anger, Giovanni nearly attacks the officer, although Ethel is the one to bite down on his Master's own hand to stop him which reminds the demon to keep his head.

As they travel to find Aoki's mother, who disappeared before Aoki was even born, they meet a timid mermaid who tells them that Aoki's mother has died some time ago. They then continue desolately to return to their path to the Association, although Giovanni stops by at a store to buy some things. Aoki and Ethel remain in the forests to hide out as their demonic companion buys supplies for them at a human convenience store which Aoki finds hilarious. They are met by a young Druid/Human hybrid named Vera who gets scared of Ethel although the demonic wolf simply nuzzles him in a rather friendly manner. When Giovanni suddenly rejoins then, Vera is scared off and hides in the forest, which gets him a scolding from Aoki.

Annoyed that a hybrid scolded him, Giovanni demands Vera comes out and then gets into a fight with Vera's father, a fully fledged Druid whose magic is intercepted by Ethel. Giovanni praises the dog, then realizes that their path to the Association is impossible to travel over by the storm raging outside now. At first Giovanni refuses to even be near the druids, although Aoki begs him to, as she is fascinated by the Druid forest, as well as Vera having grown attached to the demonic dog. They stay for a few days, then leave.

Eventually, Giovanni faces off the leaders of the Association, while the demon leader scorns him for him leaving the Association and caring for a demonic wolf.
