The eldest daughter of a low-ranking family in the kingdom's nobility, who lost her parents, their fortune, and fell from social grace, now seeking to regain her previous social position and honor. Ariadne is quiet and withdrawn, distancing herself from people with mean-spiritedness mostly out of a fear of them judging or mocking her if they perceive her as weak or vulnerable. 

She tries to make herself come off as extremely confident and capable, though she's secretly anxious and has low self-esteem, often dipping into self-loathing ideas of being a stupid, generally unappealing and unlovable person that were exacerbated by her extremely strict and unloving upbringing. Around people she's actually comfortable with, though, such as her brother, she shows more sweet and considerate traits and is fiercely protective, willing to do almost anything to care for and be with them. She's also a bit curious and nosy, liking to know other people's business, but mostly stays out of it, more satisfied with general knowledge rather then interfering.

Ariadne values family the most highly, admiring her mother more than anyone else, and doting on her younger brother more than anyone else. She was rarely allowed outside her family's estate for most of her life, so they are essentially her entire world.
