Practically incompetent to his wife while she raised their children, Hector now faces great remorse and challenge when the white flash happened.
Now having to care for the twins, all while protecting them from the harshness of the world, Hector grieves for his wife pretty much everyday. Almost everything he does now is for her, and is mostly dictated by what she would've wanted.
Hector is less than well-versed in taking care of children, even more in hyperactive, curious ones. But he tries everything he can. He answers their questions, even if his answers are bullshit; he humors them with bedtime stories.
Because his sons were still quite young when the white flash happened, they don't know anything about their mother, and Hector makes sure to keep them in the dark about everything. But whenever he tells them bedtime stories, he always makes sure to include one character: A fairy godmother, one that is thoughtful and kind. The character had become something of an inside occurrence between him and the twins, and they now mention her regularly. He hurts a little when they do, but he can't bear to tell them to stop.
