Lerato

Lerato is a male feral lion, and my main fursona. He can be drawn at any age, though I typically prefer to draw/have him drawn as a teenager. His style is of The Lion King movie/franchise, and in his 'story' he does indeed live in the Pride Lands.

Lerato was created on March 22nd, 2007 on the Lion King Fan-Art Archive. I was 16 years old at the time and this was my first introduction to posting and sharing artwork online. At the time, I had not yet been introduced to the furry fandom and didn't think of him as a 'fursona' (since I didn't know what the term meant at the time), just as my 'main character'. It wouldn't be until 2012 that I found FurAffinity and, through it, the furry fandom, and came to the conclusion that Lerato was my fursona.

Lerato's personality is that of a carefree and easy-going young male who has much going for him, but remains grounded and humble. While I enjoy drawing him doing all sorts of things, I do imagine him as existing in his own story, where he grows up with family and friends and grows as a character by experiencing multiple different events that help shape who he is. I've always said "one day I'll write his story as a comic", and I still hope to do so one day, but not anytime in the foreseeable future. He likes to sing, dance, and meet new friends and animals, especially those of other species as he always enjoys learning about other cultures, ways of life, and differences in societies.
