A prodigy from a young age, Rowan Pimbleby has been working to combine both swordplay and magic in the hopes of becoming one of the greatest adventurers of his era. Faer tutor, The Wizard, insists this is a fool's errand, but lets him try anyway - if he fails, then The Wizard was right, and if fae succeeds, fae could create something greater than anyone has seen before. What could be the harm?

Rowan and The Wizard are an oddity in their own rights, fully living in the 21st century but acting as though they're straight out of Arthurian legend. They live in a dilapidated tower in the swamps and despite frequent contact with the modern world, have not acclimated to technology in the slightest.
