Well, my advice for improvement is try to draw their heads like a heart, and then add the round bits for their mouth as a way to form the base shape of their head. Then use a oval for the body, a wee bit away from the head and draw soft curves to connect the head to the body. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I'm not the best at explaining, but I hope it helps.
