No one knows if Thonk was experimented on, or was just born looking like that. Thus is the nature of spammlings.
It seems to hold small chalky tablets that can enhance mental abilities! And seems to like trying to eat them himself. Often times this lil guy seems zooted, but very very clever. Able to create small machines and tech that are wild.
Technically, they have four eyes. The two digital ones on their face, and the two square screens that can move like antenna on the sides of their head.
They LOVE science and will do whatever it takes to enhance it. Even allowing himself to be a tiny test subject.
This guy is going to be a mad scientist when he's older. Or a mess. Or both.
And a mad scientist he does become! He tests on himself, others, anyone he can get his hands on! Usually he says it's to benefit cyber kind! But really he loves taking out parts and replacing them with this or that. Mostly he focuses on the brain or main data center. He has made weapons with brains, robots with brains, brains with brains! They are just NEAT! He will assist other scientists with their own studies as well. Often getting hurt or being experimented on. He holds no hard feelings towards them.
Virus form is triggered if you knock his head off his shoulders. Emergency systems kick in and he turns into a giant head with mutated brain. Even if you defeat the other body, the brain can still move around and fight making him an multi stage boss battle.
He values being a smarty smart smart, though sometimes gets words bungled or tongue tied. The only way he could hate his peers is if they assume his blunders make him stupid. You can cut him up, sew him up, place items in him or replace bits! That is fine! FOR SCIENCE!
But call him stupid, he hates you FOREVER.
