• GOATS has historically been known to have mixed views by the public- the independent organization has made phenomenal medical, genealogical, & technological breakthroughs for the world, but has a history of morally grey research practices that has made the public cautious.
• Rain is working on an investigative case of GOATS. She digs up old news articles, interviews, & scientific reports regarding the syndicate, and probes current / past employees for fresh commentary on the matter. Some potential interviewees decline to speak about the company or certain topics. Her goal is to create a journal as unbiased as possible to shine clear light on GOATS’s possible malpractices in order to allow readers to choose a side in the moral matter without being swayed by social commentary or false rumors about the organization.
• While Rain was making her way towards the exit (that she couldn’t find) after an interview at GOATS’s local HQ, she spotted Jake walking out of a room. He had just come out of a “health check-up”. Being essentially famous for being a world-known genetic feat- and topic of debate- of GOATS, Rain approached him. They chatted & got along easily / naturally despite the formal environment.
• After Jake walked her to the exit, Rain asked if he would like to be interviewed, or at least talk about, GOATS. For a long time, Jake has spoken little about the organization & his creation to news networks, but he agreed to Rain to chat “a bit” about the matters. He said that he was busy just then & that he was about to leave HQ, but that they could meet somewhere to do it another day. They then said goodbye & parted ways. This series of interviews would be the start of a good friendship & eventually romance.
