A fluffy and cute mothcat in the third stage of their lifecycle. The repetition of their life continues until they are eaten, or wither into the soul. After many cycles of regeneration, we see the mothcat try to reach ascension as swiftly as possible.
SPECIES FACTS
The Rosy Mothcat is a generally omnivorous slugcat.
In their caterpillar form, they exclusively eat specific foliage, and gain the most food points from "maple" leaves. As a moth, the slug benefits most from eating fruits, but can still eat foliage aswell. As their cellular form, however, they are unable to eat any food other than rotting flesh. Since carcasses are already beginning to break down, it is easier to absorb without needing a mouth. The different stages of decomposition are easier to consume than others, with the number of cycles and size of animal contributing to how many food point you gather from a carcass. Making note of every dead creature will be important throughout the campaign.
GAME MECHANICS
- Through the cycles, you switch between 3 forms:
- Look out for high places!! Soaring through the sky allows you to evade predators and explore for new foods. When they touch down, they will be 1/2 as fast and have trouble taking off. This cat cannot pick up spears effectively, and is instead suited for throwing weapons like rocks and explosives from above. This form lasts 10 cycles.
- As your life comes to an "end", you wither into a pile of recycled cells. These cells are confined to the ground and are unable to jump or progress to the sky. Despite this miserable form, the cluster of cells is quite nimble on the ground and can evade predators with quick speed. As well, you will need significantly less food than the full grown moth. This form lasts 2 cycles.
- You will need to search for as much food as possible, as you are growing. This caterpillar stage poses a challenge as your food storage is significantly higher. The upside to being a caterpillar is the many, many arms you have. With this you can store 2 spears and hold one none weapon item. This form lasts 2 cycles.
- A unique sprite will play for each stage once they sleep in a den.
