she/her)Became a mudwing queen after a rigorous and rocky campaign to being accepted by her tribe despite her nightwing blood.

Backstory(almost none of this is based in canon history): Gloria was the dragonet of a mudwing queen who fell in love with a nightwing. One day, he left her, likely out of shame from going against the the nightwing teachings of superiority that he grew up with. Within their time together, Gloria's mother had become gravid. The mother-to-be became too depressed to properly nest, leaving her eggs in the cold out of shame for being so naive and bitterness from her broken heart. So when it was time for the clutch to hatch, Gloria was the only egg to not be stillborn, possibly due to the fact that she would have been the bigwings of her family.

The queen never recovered from the loss of her beloved, a dragon she had been with in secret for nearly her entire life. Nor did she ever go back to find her eggs. Perhaps she would have if given more time. The queen's siblings and herself became ill, a dark time in mudwing history, a history in which the queen was known as the mourning Dove. The sickness only infected the royal family, like a ghastly curse. The family was slowly withering away, and in that time an uncertainty and fear fell over the mudwings.

During this time, Gloria had been growing and learning about life and her kingdom. Many mudwings did not bat an eye towards her, and if any did, the main concern of every mudwing around her was the health of the queen and her sisters.

Gloria was only four years old when the queen took her last breath. She was the final survivor in the entire royal family, a strong dragoness despite her pain. The tribe held a funeral, in which hushed sobs and quiet breaths were backdropped by the sounds of the swamp. Gloria attended this funeral, quietly weaving through sibling units comforting eachother. She eyed them wistfully, mournfully. Everyone had something to be sad about that day. It was when a dragon pointed at her with a shout, startling Gloria, that her life changed. She had a shocking resemblance to the queen which a loud dragonet confidently pointed out. But just as clear as her royal blood was her scales that only a nightwing would don, which others realized as well. She saw a chance to change her life as a silent, lonely observer and took it. Many dragons hated the idea of a dragon not of full mudwing blood taking the throne, but she was the only one who could take the late queen's place.
