Trivia
- Kiyo's name is taken from the legend of Kiyohime, a woman who turned into a snake. The kanji for Kiyo (清) means "clear, pure". Her surname is Sekien (石燕), taken from the artist and poet Toriyama Sekien, who illustrated many creatures from Japanese folklore including Jakotsubaba.
- Typical of Jakotsubaba, Kiyo has two pet snakes; a red woodsnake named Adzuki, and a blue racer snake named Aoi. Neither are venomous.
