Emma

At the beginning of the apocalypse Emma was very young. Shelters were being built but would only take healthy young children.  Her parents gave her up so she would have this chance to survive, knowing they'd never see her again.  The shelters are run by all-controlling AIs. All humans are kept on a strict schedule. They have their heads shaved and wear generic gender neutral uniforms so they all look the same. They are only known by their identification number.  They are never permitted to see outside the shelter. This is all Emma has memories of, but when life support systems in her shelter fail she is forced into the harsh outside world that she never knew.  Thankfully, she met some friends to help her. Kelsi insisted that she needed a real name and dubbed her Emma.  Emma seems naive and innocent and has a lot to learn about the world, people, and herself.  Everything is new and either fascinatingly beautiful or completely terrifying or sometimes both. She is eager to learn and ask questions about everything!!
