Born from an expiriment and out of sheer desperation. Blink began her life with little to no purpose or sense of freedom. Her iterator, Long Sprawling Fields, was her only friend. The only other creature she could talk to and interact with. Many cycles she spent in the can of her iterator, exploring and sharpening her wits with the harpoons she can conjure. Yet in all those years of training, she only grew more and more restless. LSF was very kind to her. Although not exactly the most expressive father figure, she was treated very well and pampered while under the care of LSF. In the end however, that would come bite her in the tail.
Likes
The company of others. Mainly iterators or other slugcats.- Hunting. Loves a challenging quarry.
- Slugpups! Weirdly good with kids.
Dislikes
Large bodies of water. Absolutely HORRIFIED of drowning and leviathans.- Bright lights.
- Being alone with her thoughts. Naturally she is a very anxious and self-destructive cat after all shes lived, others are needed to keep her content.
Later in her life, after the sorrowful collapse of LSF, Blink wandered the endless pipes and tunnels trying to find something to give herself purpose. Spending so long as a purposed organism doing nothing but training and lounging, has really taken its toll by this point.
Abilities
Ability: Harpoon Generation - Much like Spearmaster, however ended with sharper and thicker bladed tips.- Ability: Unnatural Stealth - While not able to camoflauge or anything like that, she can see in the dark extremely well, and despite her bioluminessence, blends into it like magic.
- Ability: Acrobatics - While she is naturally fairly quick, her slim form and powerful limbs allow her to jump and kick off of walls with near unparalleled finesse, grace, and speed.
Design
Design Notes
Does NOT use spears. Uses harpoons, a modified heavier-duty spear that can also be used as melee weapons in a pinch.- Every bright spot on her glows. Harpoon holes, eyes, antennae, and stars. Spines and quills do not glow.
- No mouth!
Relationships
As Blink's iterator and creator, she knew LSF quite well and was very fond of him. He was the only thing she knew how to talk to, and the only thing to give her the wants and needs she desired. What happened to him is burned into her memory, and she will never go a day without reminiscing on him and wishing to see him again.
While their first meeting was a bit rough, Blink learned to love Mousse for the gentle giant he is. Since the beginning he's been an immovable wall for her to lean on, and as they kept travelling together and learning more about one another, Blink found a friend somewhere she'd never expected.
A perfect partner to hunt and vibe with. The same sort of quiet and calculated personality between the two of them, its no surprise that Blink and Splinter enjoy one another's company. They often meet at a select few secluded balconies and coves to reflect on a rough day, or get some ideas out to a slug who will listen.
The green one always gave her the creeps, all his karma touting gospel. That faithful day will always be in her mind. He wont get away with this.
Girl talk at its finest. Arti and Blink are nearly inseperable once you get them talking. The moment Blink showed up to the slug village, Arti was the first cat Blink got to know. With Blink's quiet personality and Arti's fiery disposition, its quite an odd pair. Arti seems to bring out parts of Blink that otherwise would be dormant.
While Blink and Rivulet don't talk much to eachother, the conversations and interactions they have had were always fun and pleasant. You really do either love, or hate Rivulet. Also, where else would Blink get her slowshroom tea?
Spearmaster and Blink's relations are... very few. Spear and Blink tend to not interact much, and avoid eachother on purpose. Not out of hate, not even out of dislike. There is no ill will between them, they simply are mutually weirded out by the other's existence. They ignore one another completely, and life goes on.
While Blink doesnt always see eye to eye with the Hunter, there is certainly a sense of mutual respect between the two. Hunter was very slow to give Blink that grace of her respect, but after witnessing firsthand what Blink is capable of, things changed for the better.
