Early life for Kenji was rough as his mother was not the kindest to him. She forced him to do her errands for her and the hard work around the house, since his father wasn’t present.
From an early age Kenji had to protect the house from demons and other threats. He didn’t want to but he had no choice.
Once he became 14 his mom sent him to final selection. He barely made it out alive, but he made it none the less. Becoming a slayer is not something he wanted to do, the idea of killing things seemingly for “no reason” seemed grotesque to him. He slowly got used to it, but it never stopped bothering him. Instead of showing it he put up a more “ serious” front.
