Expectation
Faust was raised in a small town and grew up idolizing Shinra troopers. His father died in the Wutai war, and this spurred him into joining the Public Security Force and moving to Midgar. He's a bit soft-hearted for military work, but he gets by.
Reality
One day, while on patrol, Faust witnesses his commanding officer committing a terrible crime. He kills his superior and flees, shaken and lost with nowhere to go...
Personality
Faust is a kind, somewhat nervous young man desperately trying to find his footing in the world. He's extremely idealistic, wanting to believe in abstract ideas of "good" and "honor" despite not being able to really put those into words. These ideals are struggling under the weight of reality: now that he's in Midgar and in the army he so looked up to, he's realizing the vision he built up in his head was childish. So far, he's managed to maintain a generally soft demeanor. He's polite and does his best to help people, both in and out of uniform. He's quite chivalrous, refusing to hurt a woman unless it's his absolute last resort. Once he's ordered to do something that goes against his values, he will prove strong enough to stick to his guns and go against command. Even if he has no plan afterwards...
Likes: Fort Condor (the board game), being outdoors, potatoes, model kits, chocobos.
Dislikes: Crowds, formal settings, hospitals, cramped spaces, fluorescent lights.
