She was heavily abused throughout her life. By the other debutants of her season, by the noblemen, and even by her family estates own servants. Her half-brother despises her due to his own personal beliefs—due to her magical illness—and used to order her to be injured in hopes that she would “widen her horizons”. She’s become naturally subservient due to it, hoping that others won’t harm her the way that her family has. Due to the fact she has no magic whatsoever (her illness eats away at her magic till there’s nothing left), she has no familiar and cannot inherit her father’s dukedom.
