Profile

Pre-Camp:

Milo was always soft spoken, a little awkward, and a good student. Milo always received support from his parents and was incredibly close with his three older sisters. Being raised in a heavily feminine household allowed Milo to grow up to gentle and thoughtful, but this was not tolerated by his peers. Milo lives in a rough neighborhood and endured years of bullying and harassment from his peers and eventually Milo had enough of being seen as weak and soft.  To counter the perception his peers had of him, Milo fell in to a group of older boys and started turning to petty crime like stealing from convenience stores and getting into fistfights with boys his age. Milo stopped going to school and turned his back on his concerned family. Eventually the name calling and abuse stopped, and Milo actually felt pretty cool, but in order for Milo to truly be accepted he had to do something drastic. They planned to rob a house in a nice neighborhood and Milo went a long with it, against his better judgments. The break in went wrong when the homeowner woke up and found the boys ransacking the place. To keep the old man quiet Milo's "friends" beat him severely and although Milo did not join in, he didn't move to stop the others either. When the cops arrived Milo's gang ditched him and Milo was taken into custody. Milo could have avoided sentencing if he has snitched on his gang but his biggest fear at the time was losing his street cred so he kept silent. He had a choice: go to Juvie or spend two weeks in a rehabilitation center known as Camp Sunrise. Milo would be 18 soon and didn't want to carry out his sentencing in an adult prison so he chose camp.

During Camp:

Milo wasn't sure what to expect at camp but he was excited. He never got to do outdoorsy things so he was pretty confident that camp would be a great experience. He was wrong. At first Milo believed that camp really was a rehab center that was just poorly run by inexperienced counselors but it was quickly became apparent that Camp Sunrise was in fact a place of evil. Milo never intended to actually make friends at camp but he quickly connected with another camper named Adelaide. Together they took care a snail named Tulip and Milo quickly regarded Addie as the closest friend he had ever had. When Milo also met a younger boy named Dakota and together they buried the bloody shirt of a past dead camper. In this moment Milo felt a sort of brotherly bond with Dakota that would only strengthen over the next few days. Milo also became close with a girl named Gwen, a boy named Rook, a girl named Poppy, and a girl wolf named Fang. When the killings started, Milo was positive that the counselors were the real enemy and as things went from bad to worse his resentment towards them only grew. Milo tried his hardest to keep everyone together and to not let things get out of hand but when Addie died he realized that some things can't be controlled and that he is no leader. Fern's mask was left at the scene of the crime and in the end Fern was killed by either Rook or Dakota (Milo never learned who) which was the finally indication to Milo that things were never going to be ok. Milo took Fang, Dakota, and Rook under his wing and they became his younger siblings that he felt an unbreakable drive to protect. Rook admitted to killing Poppy but Milo was willing to forgive his actions in a last ditch effort to keep normalcy in tact. Unfortunately Fang was not so forgiving and killed Rook right in front of Milo. All of Milo's fear and anger bubbled over at that point and he stormed off, attacking two of the counselors in his bloodthirsty haze. It was only when one counselor lied down and asked to be killed that Milo's bloodlust faded and he realized that this camp, which he had been resisting against for two weeks, was about to completely rob him of his innocence. Milo left the counselor's to their own devices, realizing somehow that Rook was the killer after all and Fang was right.

Post-Camp:

Milo's goal from the beginning was to serve his sentence and return home and make amends with his family and the man he had wronged. Despite the trauma's he endured, Milo made good on his promise, reuniting with his family and working towards his GED and righting his wrongs. Milo kept in touch with Fang and Dakota, writing to them weekly and visiting them as often as he could. In the meantime Milo would join a big brother program to give support to other wayward children and ensure that they don't fall down the same path that he did. It would take a long time before Milo was able recover mentally but eventually after refusing to discuss camp with anyone, Milo's memories would become fuzzy, all except Addie's death which would haunt him forever. Maybe one day Milo would seek out that camp and fill in the gaps in his memory and put his nightmares to rest...
