I'm everywhere, yet seldom seen, in every task, in every routine. A lack of color, a lack of zest, in me, excitement finds no rest. I fill the hours, I fill the days, yet in my presence, interest strays. Like water, tasteless, clear, and plain, in my realm, enthusiasm wanes. In plainest sight, I stand and wait, a quiet life, a humdrum fate. Yet deep within, a fire burns, a yearning heart, a mind that churns. I'm often overlooked, dismissed, my worth unseen, my talents missed. But those who look with clearer eyes, may find in me a great surprise. Though plain and dull, my surface shows, inside, a vibrant river flows. So take a chance, look past the gray, and see the colors of my day. What am I, so dull and plain, yet hidden depths, like sunlit rain?
“…I feel conceited answering this, but I believe the answer is myself.” While immensely flustered by Quōr’s flattering riddle, Hanzō holds a fondness towards him he can’t quite explain. Initially confused by his riddling speech, he quickly got an understanding about him, though not always understanding his riddles immediately. Outside his mysterious words, Hanzō finds Quōr to be a relaxing companion to be around, finding himself to enjoy the sphinx’s amusement to his stories regarding his job.
I toil and labor, night and day, never stopping, come what may. My hands are tired, my eyes are worn, yet still, I work from dusk till morn. I push myself beyond my limit, my body aches, but I'm in it. For work is all I've ever known, a relentless grind, a heart of stone. But even I, the hardest worker, must pause and rest, lest I grow darker. What am I, in need of reprieve, a hard worker who cannot deceive?
In a world of roses, thorns, and sheep, a tale of wonder, secrets to keep. A prince so small, with eyes so bright, on a quest for truth, in the starry night. He meets a fox, wise and old, who shares a secret, precious as gold. "To see rightly," the fox implores, "One must look with the heart, to find what endures." A pilot lost, a desert vast, a prince who learns, the meaning of the past. With love and laughter, and lessons grand, he learns to see, with heart in hand. In this I seek, might I find in Peak ?
I'm a darkness that lurks in places where self-doubt silently festers, unnoticed but profound. Even when you work hard and try, I linger and stay. An unbearable weight on your shoulders. What am I that, at your times of clarity, casts a sharp discrepancy over your judgment? I am the unending source of hopelessness in your mental landscape the thorn in your side of tranquility. What am I but something which consumes you from the inside out, keeping you awake while you lie under scant trees, hoping for a reason to come to pass…
"I am sought in moments bright, Found in day and found in night. From simple joys to treasures grand, I bring delight across the land. What am I, a feeling pure? In smiles and laughter, I endure." Quōr finds a great solace in conversing with this angemo, captivated by the earnest struggle in his expressions as he wrestles with the riddles posed to him. A profound grief emanates from the angemo, a sorrow that Quōr senses deeply yet cannot articulate. Bound by the constraints of his own limitations, Quōr resorts to crafting intricate riddles, a means to occupy his new companion's mind and steer him away from the haunting shadows of his past. In each riddle, there is a wistful hope that through this shared intellectual pursuit, they might find a fleeting respite from the harshness of their realities.
“Talking with Quōr made me realize I don’t know as many words as I thought I did. Considering all the books I read while I was at the academy, you’d think I’d be able to understand the words of the riddles itself, but even then I’d struggle! Not that it’s exactly bad, you’re supposed to struggle a little with solving riddles, it just feels silly when I’m confused by the words themselves. I think he likes coming up with the riddles too, but that can be my wishful thinking. I hope I didn’t end up just being some sort of nuisance.. I want to see him again, I suddenly have the urge to solve whatever he throws at me!” (ง•̀.•́)ง
