Appearance:

• Overall

Yànquè is a tall man with tan skin and long dark blue hair that has a white gradient toward the tips of his hair. He has a few light blue strains as well mixed into.

• Eyes

Like all Khaenri’ahn he has blue eyes with a star-shaped pupil. The color of his eyes leans a little toward the purple shade of blue though. The most notable feature is that the sclera of his right eye is black, while the sclera of his left eye is white.

• Hair Color and style

His originally short hair has grown out and now ends at the top of his hips. The dark blue hair got a gradient to light blue and then lastly white after his curse of immortality was overwritten by the new one. He mainly wears his hair open but sports a singular braid on the right side of his hair.

• Accessories and Jewelry

The only Jewelry Yànquè is wearing is the peacock-feather-inspired earring that symbolizes his marriage to the one wearing the other pair. His earring is on his left ear.

• Make-up

Has a soft blue shade at the tip of his eyes.

• Clothing

His clothing is a mixture of Khaenri’ahn and Xianzhou style. He's very a cape that parts in the middle with some white fur along the neckline. His top is a simple blue one that sports black Khaenri’ahn stars added to the sides. His pants are also blue and kept simple except for some cloud patterns above his boots. The boots are the same he always wore when he was part of the black serpent knights

• Scars

The scars on Yànquè’s body are remnants of his abyssal corruption. They only cover his right side and appear as gashes that seem to be shifting color like a galaxy. The scars cover a good portion of his right arm, chest, and torso, along with two on his neck and one over his right eye.

Personality:

Yànquè had been shy and closed up in his youth, mainly due to the mistreatment he had to endure even as a pure-blooded Khaenri’ahn. When he joined the Cloud Knight and in turn the High-Cloud Quintet he became a confident man, who didn't even shun away from going aggressive against others. Yet he remains gentle and enjoys being around people.

Weapons:

Midnight Star: A sword that was specifically grafted for him by Yingxing. The blade exhibits the night sky with stars littered across the blade. It even seems to color shift. The hilt is decorated with the Khaenri’ahn star as its guard.

• Yànquè broke all his previous blades due to his ice powers that seeped into the blades, only the Midnight Star can handle that extreme of his power.
  
  

Abilities:

Teleport: Yànquè can teleport rather quickly. He believes it's something he retained from his Abyss corruption as his teleportation bears a strong similarity to those of Abyss Heralds.

Backstory:

Yànquè came to the Xianzhou Luofu after he was found by some Cloud Knights in the Sumeran Desert. He's been close to being completely corroded by his Abyssal corruption. The Knight took him with them and he woke up in a bed within the Alchemy Commission and met Dan Heng for the first time. He was offered to be cured, yet it normally was forbidden to give immortality. The choice would be purely his, which eventually he consents to as he would rather live forever with a different curse than with a curse that will eventually corrode and consume him. He then consumed the Drug of Draconic Surge and his hair took on the gradient that he's been later known mostly for among the Cloud Knights. 

Following the wish to help the Xianzhou Yànquè became a trainee within the Cloud Knights and worked his way up to a Captain of one of the garrisons.

He was known for his expertise in sword fights, but also that no sword survived long in his possession. Due to the Abyssal corrosion, his ice Element constantly seeps into his weapon and it gets frozen from within, eventually, the blades will burst under the elemental pressure. This even occurred during the fight for the title of sword champion and he needed to fight his opponent with his element and abilities alone. Until he was able to create a sword out of ice to beat the other man. He claimed the title of sword Master and eventually got dubbed the Midnight Sword.Yingxing decided to craft a sword for Yànquè, one that was able to contain his elemental power and not shatter.

During the raid of a pleasure house, he was the only one able to make Shítou drop his guard and shield. Bringing the Sigonian to the Xianzhou he helped Shítou to get back on track with interacting with people.

Eventually, he offered to live in his house with him. After a while, they became engaged, which they symbolized by Yingxing crafting special earrings for them. They married not long after and even thought about having Children at one point.

  • His branch of the Alberich Clan had a Sumeran lineage once mixed into him and even later children kept the Sumeran physical traits.
• His elemental power is so strong that no sword survives long in his possession. 
  • His ice Element flows into the blades and shatters them eventually after 1 month of use.
  • Yingxing forged him a sword that could deal with this and not shatter.
• Yànquè was the first person who gained Shítou’s trust.
