Chorokoni

(χωροφύλακα) cho̱rofýlaka (guardian)

Chorokoni's are omnivores that live in colonies of females, multiple colonies can fall under a single territory ruled by a male (or a coalition), who will protect them from outsiders. Though females are sometimes slightly larger than males, males have larger fangs and a stronger bite force so they are still able to one-up any female easily. 

This is a private species for my book world.
