Obsidian’Paw is very straight-forward and rarely shows their emotions, making people perceive them as quite cold. Even if this may be partly true, they still care for the ones that they’re close to, and are quite protective of them as well.
Obsidian’Paw was born to both White’Shine and Smoke’Thaw at dusk in Leaffall, named after their particularly dark pelt. Unfortunately, it was quickly discovered that Obsidian’Kit was born completely blind, causing their eyes to appear pitch black. This caused Smoke’Thaw to despise Obsidian’Kit, as he wanted a strong cat to carry on his blood line, not… This.
Throughout their kithood, Obsidian’Kit slowly realised this and grew more bitter towards Smoke’Thaw, until eventually Obsidian’Paw become the medicine cat’s apprentice. During the meeting where this was announced, Obsidian’Paw asked for permission to speak. After being granted this permission, Obsidian’Paw lashed out and angrily stated that Smoke’Thaw was no longer their father, and wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. Since then, Obsidian’Paw has managed to live through their apprenticehood more peacefully than they did their kithood.
