In my au, Bluey and Mackenzie were a thing when they were young adults!! They were young and still finding themselves out. They had Bowie unplanned. After his birth Bluey began to realized she was sapphic (and polyamorous) and Mackenzie realized he was Aroace.

The two talked and agreed to stay together platonically, to raise Bowie until he was a few months old. After that Mack moved out, and started a queer platonic relationship w Jean-Luc! Bluey eventually started dating Chloe and Winnie! They all are Bowie’s primary guardians! Mackenzie and Jean-Luc get to see Bowie whenever tho!! They’re all in good terms!!!
