Gabriel

Gabriel was born cousin to the Royal Household of Mog. From a young age he was always fascinated by street magic and parlor tricks. He would always spend his time with his sister watching the street magicians and said he was going to become the greatest magician in the world. His first encounter with real magic was when his father divcorced his mother. In an attempt to take Gabriel and his sister Morana with him a street magician spotted the confrontation and pulled a little trick swapping them from their location with a sack of rice. Gabriel was fascinated by the magician that saved their lives. He started following the magician where ever he went, observing, trying to learn by watching. He was eventually found out and the magician asked the young Gabriel why he was following him. Gabriel said he wanted to learn magic. The magician, Noel, reluctantly agreed and began training him unbeknwonst to his mother. As time went on Gabriel learned parlor tricks but only managed to grasp the basics, his growth was slow but Noel saw potential inside him, the potential to become a great sorcorer. However his mother found out about his little hobby and confronted the man 'teaching' her son. Understandably miffed and aggressive she red Noel the right act about luring young impressionable boys in with magic... but realized he was mostly harmless. Gabriel told her about the day he was the magician that saved them from their father and Alivia was immediately taken aback. She apologized for her outburst and thanked her for helping her children. Noel thought nothing of it and apologized in turn for not asking her if it was alright to teach Gabriel. After singing her childs praises Alivia warms up to him. When he turns 16 he recieves his own staff and magicians hat. However his sister falls ill around the same time and he sets off to find money for his family to pay for her treatments. Unbeknownst to him his sister has been infected by blight, an incurable virus that turns victem mad. While searching the taverns and trying to put on shows and taking up contract jobs he meets a group of travelers led by a young girl named Landon. They are currently on a job and seeking a magician to accompany them. He offers his services and joins them on their quest. It's here he learns about the blight infecting his sister and how the group is on a quest related to it. He more or less forces himself upon them and joins their little party as the group mage, granted in most cases he's less than helpful due to his magical abilities and parlor tricks. Despite his showman tendancies he is always willing to help the group and becomes invauable as a healer later on. Though this doesn't bode well when he falls in love with one of the hunters trying to kill them, Miram.
