Florine (LCA-F)

Based on L'Oiseau Bleu / The Blue Bird.

This Collectivist was once a member of the Cinq Association, but after a Distortion incident known as the Blue Bird caused her to develop amnesia, she was let go. She is convinced that a man had saved her from the Blue Bird, and was determined to find him, citing him as being like "a prince". However, asking her for further details on the prince will cause her to think for a long time, before giving up; she says she's never seen him before except on that day, and that he has the most beautiful eyes, like shining jewels.

Prior to joining the Cinq Association, she had once lived in a Nest with her widowed father. Her father had met his wife, marrying her and bringing his new wife's daughter Truitonne into the family, along with Truitonne's loyal aunt Mazilla. While Florine had been kindly and gentle, Truitonne had been selfish and spoiled, especially with her mother and Mazilla's inability to refuse her desires.

Mazilla grew tired of Florine outshining Truitonne, though, and arranged for the girl to be kidnapped by a Syndicate known as The Birds. One of the members who was the same age as Florine was a young man named Prince, bearing the alias of Blue Bird; he was the first of the kidnappers whose faces she'd seen before she was knocked out. She was eventually dropped off in the Backstreets, where it was expected that she would be killed or worse.

Thankfully, this wasn't the case. A member of the Cinq Association had found her as she was waking, and took her to their home. The Fixer was surprised by how curious she was about the Backstreets, especially as she was a Nest-dweller, and began to teach her everything they knew. Florine would become an especially skilled member of the Cinq Association by the time she was old enough to join. She remained with the Cinq for several years before the Blue Bird incident, her memories of her kidnapping resurfacing during her distortion.

It is unknown what had happened to trigger the Blue Bird to distort, but most members of the Association would tell you the truth: Florine had distorted, although nobody knew why. Florine does not remember this fact, only knowing that she was let go.
