History

August was born August 6th, 2300 along with his twin brother. In Augusts home kings are born with a rare gene that turns their eyes red, the kingdom takes this as a sign from god that they are meant to rule. August was born with the red eyes, his brother was not. Because of this August was choosen as the heir and was favored by his father Jackson who also shared the red eyes. Augusts brother was shuned by his father, but was loved by his mother Ophelia, who didn't have the eyes either. August while be favored by his father still loved his mother very much as she was very kind to all and treated both with respect. Jackson while favoring August wasn't very nice to him. He was often very harsh in his rules and twisted Augusts world views, making him think those who weren't royalty were lesser people. Jackson often belittled August and made him feel like he wasn't enough and was gonna be an awful king. Because of this August often pushed himself to become better, over working himself and ending up giving himself an eating disorder at 15. It lasted for a couple years before he told his brother and he helped him slowly get better. At 17 August was surprised when his brother told him he was actually a girl, and she'd be going by Charlotte from now on. He was a little confused, but told her 'he always wanted a sister' and supported her when she came out to their parents. Ophelia was delighted she spoke up about, jackson was not, and it only made him distance himself more from her. At 18 August and Charlotte joined the army to help protect their home before August became king. Jackson was very against him putting himself at risk but he did it anyway. While working in the army August and Charlotte were able to become closer than they could as kids, not that they didn't have their father in the way. They became basically tethered together, always hanging out with each other. After a few months they met a new general, her name was Victoria. August quickly fell head over heels for her, and Charlotte nudged him into asking her out, but he refused saying being in the army was no place for relationships. Him and Victoria became very close though and were great friends which gave August many benifits in the army. Some time during his time in the army his mother passed away from illness, although August and Charlotte were unable to go home and say goodbye. At 25 August left the army and was crowned the new king as his father was becoming too old to lead. August was thrilled, happy to be where he worked so hard to get, and his father seemed genuinly proud in him. Over time August showed to rule just like his father, meaning he cared more about his own needs and not the kingdoms. This made Charlotte very angry and told him he was acting like their father. This upset August and he lashed out at her, telling her he'd have her killed for how she was treating him. Hurt, but also furious, Charlotte left the castle, going into the kingdom and rounding up others just like her to go against August and try to make him change his ways. One night the castle was attacked, canons blowing up parts of it and raining down debris, August was injured and his father was killed. August confronted Charlotte and told her this wasn't over. Charlotte and her followers fled from the kingdom, promising August they'd fight for their rights. Well August was healing from his wounds he was visited by Victoria, who had recently left the army and wanted to check on him. August and her finally confessed their feelings and they got together for a few years before marrying
