The West Wind Courier

The very night Siyoh predicted a star would fall from the sky, Kazoo tumbled into clan territory, wings coated in frost. Bawx, Varis, and Vitra had trouble retrieving her alone — luckily, in a rare turn of events, Siyoh had been so surprised by her own prophecy that she elected to come along and inspect the new arrival. Despite every insistence that she was "absolutely fine and would be on her way in the morning", the dragonet showed signs of an unusually shaped pale frostbite. Vitra, de facto healer, insisted she stay until her wounds healed. Containing her natural endurance, creativity, and boundless energy proved quite difficult to maintain. The matriarch, after one particularly... eventful day of prankery took her aside and ask her to carry an important message to an ally of theirs in the Shadow territory. It was quickly discovered that the easiest way to keep Kazoo (and the rest of the clan) sane was to send her away on courier missions.

One brisk spring day, she came back with a request to take on a second job: the Westwind Owl of the Noctua Hatchery, thanks to a friendship she'd developed with its primary caretaker, the wildclaw Sorell. Once assured that she'd still carry messages for the Stormpikes, Vitra was pacified and allowed her to take the position.

It was in fact through Kazoo's position as an Owl that the clan was saved from flooding; though she didn't frequently take notice of hatchlings, she struck up an acquaintanceship with Vivienne, a young skydancer and the son of Stormpike's own Siyoh. With his help and assistance from Rosalind and Bruno, the clan was able to safely complete their exodus into Water territory.
