Demetria Bounmy Heathcliff

Demetria Bounmy Heathcliff is an only child from a long line of Seekers who settled down on the peaceful island of Sundrop Falls, North America.

Having largely spent most of her lifetime growing up in a small, tight-knit community, she learned to greatly value the sense of comradery and family above all else.

With two busybodies as parents however, she practically lived the majority of her childhood with her neighbors who alongside their twins, Lucretia (Tia) and Lucretius (Theo) Gardner, were happy to take her under their wing.

Despite the love and support of her family and friends, Demetria was unfortunately plagued by a crushing weight of generational trauma which was forged by the legacy her family had left behind.

With a strong sense of duty and an overwhelming fear and worry of disappointing those closest to her, she abandoned all if not most dreams and aspirations to delude herself into believing that dedicating her entire existence to being a Seeker is exactly what she wanted.

It had been so long since the last time Demetria thought of her future.

So long since the last time she attempted to ever live for herself.

She couldn’t recall when she stopped being her own person.

As a stickler for rules, Demetria possesses a disciplined nature that guides her actions with a steadfast determination. It’s rare for her to ever act out of line and doing so for any reason, whether justified or not, causes her to panic. Caretaking and damage control are parts of her self image.

She is deeply empathetic and impressionable to a point of absorbing energies and attitudes of those around her, making her a sponge for both positivity and negativity alike. As an isolated island girl, customs in the city remain foreign to her and she often wonders about the specifics. While she appears ditzy during those instances, she is by no means a fool but learns best from doing rather than reading.

Despite her tendency for worrying and severe lack of melatonin due to her ability, she remains an optimist at heart, finding hope and silver linings even in the darkest of situations no matter how difficult. Her habits can frequently lead her to overthink and second-guess herself, especially from being inherently conflict avoidant.

Stubbornness is thus a defining trait, as once she sets her mind on a goal, she refuses to back down. This perseverance can clash with her giddiness as she eagerly dives into new experiences or opportunities.
