This haunting is a memory. Itβs about what happened that night, at the sandlot you werenβt allowed to play ball at because a pack of wild dogs lived there. Wild dogs are always hungryβyou knew thatβbut it was summer, and you felt invincible. You felt like you could swallow the whole world. You swallowed something else, and now you drag it around everywhere you go, roadkill on a leash. You tried to bury it, but it always gets dug up.

What happens when a body is no longer a body? When that body is no longer yours? Thorn is the answer to the questions people form religions overβthe concept of death made alive. Beguilingly angelic in appearance, it is a harbinger of rot, appearing only to those whose lives will soon meet a visceral end. With an ever-present, serene smile, Thorn finds pleasure in stirring the hearts of humans whose misguided beliefs in salvation led to them steeping their hands in sin all their lives. It surely would be forgiven when they would be welcomed into the heavenly realmβwould it not? Instead of splendour and trumpets, however, to meet with Thorn is to soon meet with hellfire and brimstone. They do this work with no recompense; such is the nature of a being whose soul was grafted from the patient lamb's.
Regardless of how she meets her end, Thorn is the direct outcome to Genevieve's deathβor perhaps, more fittingly, they are the genesis, for it is their inevitability that necessitates tragedy to her tale. In actuality, there is no story that ends happily for the wolf and the lambβ-it is not a matter of fate, but merely that the inherent nature of their selves lead back towards the hound and the goat.
Happily ever after goes against the will of God. It goes against their nature.
Since when have you ever read a story about the lamb and its wolf that doesn't end with one eating the other?
Personality
Spry and wry, Thorn is a being full of chaotic energy, much to the chagrin of their companion(?), Hound. It hides little of its mischievous nature, hosting no facade atop unbridled, childish sadism. Similar to the original personality of the soul it's perverted, Thorn is pure in every aspect of the termβthough the connotation thereof may not fare as wholly angelic as one may assume, even if their appearance suggests as such.
Thorn holds simultaneous curiosity and indifference to the realms and the lives which inhabit them; possessing a lackadaisical manner not dissimilar to a child yet to learn that raising a magnifying glass to ants will subject upon them the heat of the sun, Thorn treats all things callously and with reckless abandon. ...And even when knowledge of their action's consequences have surfaced, no empathy for those creatures is ever birthed in conjunction. Life is no blessing, and therefore they shouldn't dally to assign meaning to that which has none. You mourn not for the ants you step over once you've had your funβwhy place all life over a hierarchy when it amounts to nothing in the end?
