Chime stands at 5’3” and has a petite build that is dainty and almost doll-like in its assumed fragility. His skin is a pale warm green that you could call pastel, and he has the typical set of three eyes of his race, with the third positioned in the middle of his forehead vertically. Like all Kaleidoscope Fae his eyes and membrane ears are eternally shifting colours (although their eyes most often land on a rosey pink colour), and Chime’s particular ear shape is a mutation similar to being a ginger. Their eyes are almond shaped, their lips bottom heavy, their face diamond shaped, and their nose ever so gently downturned and rounded at the tip. Chime’s dark emerald green hair has a high luster to it, and it falls just past their shoulder blades. Chime has a widow’s peak, and typically keeps the front of their hair swept back off their face. Their hair texture is straight, although the weight of Chime’s luxurious mane can sometimes make the ends of his hair flow in soft waves. While he has wings that take on a similar shape to his ears, he often doesn’t manifest with them indoors.

A bit eccentric, Chime loves to accessorize with things that one may not typically associate with as an accoutrement such as agate slices in their hair, glass windchimes, doily fascinators, and other bits and bobs that can sometimes make their appearance look more kitschy. Their overall sense of dress tends to lean towards something similar to ouji lolita, although I would say that it has a considerably more ‘crafty’ quality to it while still being regal. Chime held a lot of guilt over forcing the relationship with his previous muse, but they learned a lot about themselves. Chime realized they had been trying to pigeon hole themselves into what they should be, because it was expected of him, not because it was something they actually wanted. It helped him to learn not to compromise, or to try and shape himself into what society or others expected him to be.

Since then, Chime has gone off to live a considerably happier life. Although he is an outcast among his people, Chime has a small studio attached to his home where he can create whatever he wants whenever he wants. Chime enjoys things such as costume making, painting, sculpting, writing, drafting poetry, singing, and dancing.

While he would consider himself to be primarily a cerebral-minded individual, Chime is also equally in touch with his emotions. He is not afraid of big emotions that might have once made him feel uncomfortable, and instead he has found comfort is knowing where his feelings come from, why they manifest, and being able to sit with them without shutting down or getting irate at himself. Chime makes for not only a good crafting buddy, but an excellent ear when mean thoughts enter one’s head. He has been there, they have walked that path, and they have come out on the other side stronger for it.

Chime is considerate, logical, courteous, curious about the world, firm when he needs to be, hardworking, difficult to offend, and has a vast wealth of knowledge on topics that interest him. Of course, art history is one Chime enjoys discussing, and he is curious to learn more about our famous power houses of the arts. On the flip side, he can be a bit sarcastic, a little detached when he’s very in his own head, independent to a fault, opinionated, passive, and Chime has a touch of gloom that sometimes seeps into his personality from time to time.

As a Kaleidoscope Fae, Chime can help you hone in on areas of improvement for your chosen craft, make suggestions on how to shift things around, pivot, or entirely change course when things don’t seem to be working out. Chime can suggest different techniques, offer perspectives you may not have thought of yourself, or help to hype you up when you’re feeling glum about a project’s progress. Chime is the reminder that when you’re in the thick of it, sometimes things don’t look as they should, and to be gentle with yourself as you navigate your various projects. We are always our own worst critics, and Chime offers his voice to reassure you that everything will come together as it's meant to.
