Summary
If there's one thing Chip is completely sure of, its that Inkopolis is a terribly confusing place. The steep learning curve began upon his escape to the surface no more than 6 months ago, and every day brings new challenges for an Octoling who doesn't always quite understand the culture of Inkopolis.
This is, of course, not helped by the fact that he is unable to speak - having lost the ability years ago due to a brain injury, and is still very unsure in his use of Inkling Sign Language, resulting in him often mixing up common phrases or slang.
Despite these rather significant setbacks, Chip has found himself part of an (as of yet unnamed) Splat League team and has been steadily climbing the ranks alongside the rest of his team.

Trivia
- He's mute and had to learn sign language when he escaped to the surface, since he never had the opportunity to learn before.
- He's very skittish - tending to flinch at loud noises or sudden movement.
- He tends to get really nervous when he's alone in the dark and needs a nightlight to help him sleep.
- He likes perching up on high places (rooftops, window ledges etc.) - much to the concern of his friends.
- He shakes like a leaf after intense games and usually has to take a second to calm himself down
- He has a prominent patch of scar-tissue, stretching from the left of his forehead to the centre of his head.
