𝓐scal was born into a family already shattered by loss. The eldest daughter and heir to the Ashgrove name was killed in an incident with a cursed book. An event partially blamed on her twin brother Avitus which meant he was completly removed from any chance of being the heir and all but disowned. Ascal was born because a noble family needs an heir no matter what.

He is constantly pushed to try achieve the same heights of his late sister, spending all his time studying within the house and city libraries never allowed the freedom of most children. His realtionship with his brother was strained for most of his life and he never recieved any real warmth from his mother or father. He eventually found a hidden section locked beneath the mansion full of forbidden texts and cursed objects leading him down the road of Necromancy. A type of magic punishable by death within Nimbrae.
