Empathy lacking serial killer. Now prisoner. Rico has caused a lot of trouble, even in the prison he is in. the warden is trying it find a plot hole in the law to get rid of him (Their law is against execution). One day the warden orders Rico to him, and attaches a collar to him. it cannot be removed and it causes him to warp in to a different universe every 3 hours. Rico meets an alien creature, which gives him the ability to feel empathy. It was like a destiny brought him there. Now he regrets all the lives he has taken and tries to help anyone he comes across during his misadventures.
eventually he meets an engineer, who modifies his collar; the timer is removed and he can now jump at will, yet his destination is still random.
