Rosalie Bennet is the sole heir to the Bennet magical family- who are currently jostling for standing in the magical community. The best way to gain standing is to marry well, and given that the Merriweather family is by far and away the best of the best... it's no wonder the Bennets are interested in linking their daughter to the Merriweather line. As such, a marriage was to be arranged between Ashley and Rosalie! ...Except Ashley wasn't too keen on it and ran away, so she's had to chase him.
Rosalie is definitely a spoiled girl and it shows- she's rude and extremely entitled, often getting her way with couquettish smiles and fluttering lashes. Most men are practically eating out of her palm... but not Ashley, who seems determined to run away from her. And she, in turn, is determined to run WITH him until he upholds the marriage contract!
This isn't entirely true- truth is, Rosalie's putting up an act. She doesn't want to marry Ashley either, but given her parents pressure and the threat of being disowned if she doesn't go through with it she instead decided the best bet would be to drive him off so he cancels it. She was worried that his playboy nature would take a rejection as a challenge, so she handcrafted the spoiled personality in the hopes he'd be so turned off he'd break the engagement. ...Instead he ran off so she's just been chasing him to get him to reject the marriage once and for all. However, his running did lead her to meet the love of her life- Emily O'Connell- so she isn't all mad. In a way, she's running too after all.
The "real" Rosalie is a lesbian with a cool, collected personality. A real big sister type who'll always have a warm shoulder for you to cry on and plenty of good advice. She'll happily spend hours talking about her favorite subjects if asked- there was a grain of truth in her fake personality in that she loves gemology and dressing up! Though maybe not as over the top as her fake persona suggests.
Rosalie is also a secret route for female players! If you're nice enough to her and spend a significant enough amount of time alone with her and Emily, she'll eventually fall for you.
