Helpful note for artists: While I strongly prefer the full look of Hokulia's scales, I understand that scales can be a real pain for artists! (I should know, I drew them. XD) If desired, you are free to simplify the scales down into basic gradients. I've provided an example of this in his gallery, though it should be pretty self-explanatory!   Additionally, Hokulia can be drawn as full anthro (like the ref sheet,) two-legged feral (like a bird or Kangraroo,) or quadruped feral. (Like a cat, or classic dragon!) 

Personality:

Hokulia is an interesting sort, swinging wildly between "chillest dude on the planet" and "idiot with two brain cells and too much red bull," with very little in-between. He's perfectly happy to go with the flow until an idea takes root, after which it is impossible to slow him down! Hokulia is known for getting himself into dumb situations that could have been avoided if he'd given the plan an ounce of thought, but "thinking" definitely isn't one of his usual pastimes.   While most of his hijinks are harmless and generally end up as good, Summer fun, I would definitely think twice at the phrase "trust me!" Blind faith in this dragon is likely to get you a broken arm. (At least you'll have a good story to tell, eh?)

Similar to some tropical birds, Hokulia's diet mostly consists of honey, nectars, fruit, and other natural sugars, along with the occasional dose of seafood or other meats. Because so much of his diet consists of sugar, Hokulia is almost always down for a bite to eat and always packs an assortment of snacks to avoid blood sugar crashes. His fast metabolism is both a blessing and a curse, but no one knows fruit better than Hokulia! He alsmost has a "sixth sense" around him for when fruit in the area will be ripe, and he somehow always manages to pick the best pieces. As a result of his diet, Hokulia can become a bit spaztic after eating a lot of processed sugars, since his body metabolizes them much faster than natural sugars. He tries to avoid them as a rule. The one exception to this rule belongs to snow cones, which are his favorite "guilty pleasure" and something he indulges in at least once a week. His friends and neighbors know to give him a wide berth after eating a snow cone, as his charisma tends to increase in tandem with the amount of processed sugar he's consumed, and he is likely to wrap anyone around him into some hair-brained scheme!
