Profile

Name: Deja
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Height: 6'3"
Species: Nekomimi
Occupation: Merchant; con artist
Significant Other:
Appearance:

Personality: Tall, handsome and charming, Deja would be the full package, if he didn't have a penchant for pickpocketing that is. Deja runs a swindler's booth of overpriced worthless goods, fakes and knockoffs, and is quite successful with his smooth talking and friendly demeanor. Even those who know of his unsavory profession can't help but be pulled in by his good looks and silver tongue. Oddly enough, he seems to have a rather good personality off the job too, but it's impossible to tell what kind of person he is as he keeps a distance between him and others, never disclosing much information about himself and always dancing around the subject with his ability to steer a conversation.

Setting: Set in the country Sabah, this land borders the ocean as well as several other countries, making for a wealthy nation due to exports, many valuable goods and precious gems only being able to be found in certain areas of this country due to its underground volcanic activity and particular environment (A temperate environment with little humidity in most areas, but having dense tropical rainforests in others).

While politically a peaceful country that has suffered through very few wars despite its rich resources, the internal politics are rather complex and the population is divided into three very strongly separated caste systems, the rich and royal in the middle of the city, middle-class in the next ring and the poor living on the outskirts. This caste system is so powerful that the 3 groups speak completely different languages, and its almost unheard of to move from whatever position you were born into. There is gradients of wealth in each group, but each caste is completely separate from one another with its own set of culture, language, economical and political systems, however all are over-governed by the Queen of Sabah. Another unique feature of Sabah is its main energy source comes from the heat and volcanic activity underground, rather than oil.

The upper middle ring is home to the country's largest bazaar, where merchants from all over Sabah sell their wares and one of the few areas where social classes mix. This market runs the span of an entire city and is open 3 times a week, drawing in a colorful array of people in the form of both customers and merchants.
