While primary use is surveillance and defence, Akula is a predator-class and those instincts are difficult to ignore. Often getting in trouble for disturbing fishing ships out of curiousity, her superiors believe it's also because she's just not being used for her intended purpose: hunt and kill. Her record is near perfect for responding to commands, but more and more often she deviates to act on her killer instincts.
