Ggino Buon

Ggino grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. His past is sketchy and mysterious, but what Yue has been able to make of it is that he’s been tossed around like a disposable. Yue is not his first teacher. Although he doesn’t say whether or not he’s had just one teacher before Yue or more, it’s evident that he’s been to many places where he’s not wanted. He leaves home a lot and Yue doesn’t try as hard anymore to keep him in to study. When he’s outside, he finds what he can to mess things up for himself whether it be getting drunk or getting into fights.

Ggino is practiced and brutal when it comes to fighting. If only he was a professional wrestler or boxer than his talents would pay off.  He learned his tactics the hard way. He was a cheeky brat as a young boy and that only made people want to beat his ass. But he was quick to learn how to defend himself. And that turned him into what he is now—superior in most, if not all, aspects in a fight. Even against his peers Kei and Nico who are strong and toned, don’t stand a chance against Ggino. His height allows him to give off more intimidation given its rare he finds anyone taller than him. Likewise Kei and Nico are also fairly tall but still lacking in height compared to Ggino.  

When he wants to be he can be relatively bright and fun-loving (whether that be fun for everyone or just himself [at the expense of others]). But generally he just pushes everyone’s buttons because he’s pissed off or looking to annoy them.

Although at first Yue had a lot of trouble with him, after her visit with Shion things changed. With Ggino’s piqued interest in her and Yue’s own interest to help Ggino there were more one-on-one study sessions between them (although still not as regular as it should be). Nico forms a jealousy towards Ggino, and the others, as they get more of Yue’s attention for acting out soo much. Ggino is aware of Nico’s crush on Yue and finds it amusing how he gets when she and Ggino are close.
