PERSONALITY
When it comes to other people, Nathan doesn't like socializing for extended periods of time and has a limited amount to contribute to most discussions. Even in cases where social convention calls for it, he doesn't go out of his way to entertain others by forcing an appropriate response. Instead, he shows feeling through small gestures, and strictly on occasions where he warrants the sentiment necessary. While he isn't keen on showing emotion, the easiest way to pull a reaction from him is to appeal to his competitive nature. He likes a good challenge, whether physical or mental, and finds that winning over somebody else helps boost his superiority complex.

Although one might expect him to be, Nathan isn't prone to violence, nor is he reactive to taunts or threats. If anything, he finds confrontation amusing and will entertain it until the situation escalates into a physical brawl. At that point, he loses interest and only retaliates if the other person persists or refuses to leave him alone. As someone skilled with bladed weapons, he always has the option of using lethal force, but prefers to avoid the mess, of both blood and legalities. Despite what his knife wielding habits may suggest, he's actually more fond of using his tools to prepare dinner.

APPEARANCE
Nathan is a leopard gecko with a good number of scars, both faded and recent, most of them resulting from street fights gone wrong. Two of the most visible marks are the raised scar on his forearm and the gunshot wound on his neck. His body type is tall and he's decently muscular, but slightly bottom heavy.

HEALTH
If he's not bleeding out, he's fine, or so he says.

OCCUPATION
For a short while after being emancipated, Nathan worked as a personal chef for a wealthy family. Eventually they were forced to fire him, finding he lied about his age, but he picked up a variety of culinary skills that he can still perform to this day. He won't mention it directly, but cooking for others is a favorite pastime of his, and he appreciates the compliments he usually gets for it too.

RESIDENCE
He spends most nights in motel rooms or wherever else he can find a bed. He has the option of going home to his father, but won't ever use it.

FAMILY
While it's not entirely intentional, he hasn't seen his father in years. He hasn't made any attempts to visit his mother in prison either.

BACKSTORY
Nathan's father was a successful businessman employed at an advertisement agency, while his mother was in stark contrast a volatile and chronically unemployed drug addict. The chance of those two opposing forces coming together to make a child was pure chance, but it had many unfortunate consequences for Nathan growing up. Because his mother wanted to avoid sharing custody, she frequently moved houses and neighborhoods in order to evade her ex-lover's efforts to enforce the court order. Inevitably, the lack of stability in their home became troublesome for Nathan, but what was far worse were his mother's abusive tendencies. Her behavior ranged from apologetic acts of kindness, to violent outbursts that made the world seem as if it were about to end. The situation reached its peak where in a drug-induced fit of frustration, she attempted to drown Nathan in their bathtub. She received life in prison for this, along with numerous charges for child endangerment and failing to obey the court-ordered custody agreements.

While the ordeal of living with his mother may have ended with a verdict, Nathan displayed issues connecting with others throughout his childhood and became almost entirely antisocial as a result. His father did everything he thought possible to establish a relationship with his son, but reluctantly agreed to emancipate him at sixteen as per his request.
