Jamie Wolffe

(Also known as Firebird)

Backstory

Jamie “James” Wolffe was born in Sydney, Australia, in 2048.
When he was 8, he and his family were forced to move to the United States after a wildfire destroyed their neighborhood, leaving them without a home.
At the age of 23, he became a Firefighter in Manhattan, to some degree inspired by the fire that left him and his family homeless at a young age. 

While on the job he was exposed to toxic waste, leaving him with major burns and blisters.
This would land him in the hospital, suffering from a life-threatening fever.
As a result of the secretive nature of the toxic substances he came into contact with, he was taken into custody by the FBI for closer observation and testing.
This resulted in him being incarcerated within a secret facility for four years, which he simply referred to as “the facility”. 

Once mutants were allowed rehabilitation applications, he got out through a successful application and returned to his family’s home, where he found that his parents were neglectful and abusive to his younger brother, Tyler, where he took him under his wing.
He would get an apartment in Brooklyn for the two of them.
In late 2074, Tyler is diagnosed with cancer, with Jamie unable to pay for his medical bills.
Desperate to save his brother’s life and unable to secure any funds for their cancer treatment, he was forced to rob a bank with his newly gained pyrotechnic abilities.
This would result in a group of mutants arriving to thwart his bank robbery, but they would fail to prevent his escape.

Shortly afterwards however, he would find himself joining them for one reason or another, under the promise that they could help save his brother’s life.

Abilities and Weakensses

Abilities

• As a Pyrokinetic, he is able to control the fire that burns within and around his body.
  As his power is directly related to his emotion at the time of use, his pyrokinesis could prove helpful in a fight. The fire usually stays on his arms and legs, but if angry enough, it can spread to his torso and neck, and possibly his head.
• Due to possessing control over great amounts of heat, he has the ability of being able to melt metallic objects like doors and beams.
• The last main ability is his resistance to most burn related injuries, like boils and blisters. However, they still cause him a great deal of pain, which could hinder his performance in battle.

Weaknesses

• His massive anger issues makes him prone to emotional outbursts and the possibility of temporarily losing control of his actions and abilities.
  This could be exploited by an aggressor to draw him into an unfavorable position, making it easier to defeat him.
• Water can leave him with burns, like the way dry ice feels to normal people.

Appearance

Typically wears

When in public, he could often be spotted wearing a black leather biker’s jacket, a white tank top/gray shirt of assorted rock band logos, black or brown jeans, black or red socks and black boots.
Sometimes he also wears a necklace with a cross on it or a pair of black sunglasses.
He also has an ear piercing on his left ear.

Superhero uniform

His uniform consists of:

• A back chest plate,
• Shoulder pads,
• Arm guards with flame patterns on them,
• A dark maroon colored tactical helmet with a flame pattern,
• Black tactical leg armor,
• And black army boots.
