Megumi Sakura

Megumi Sakura is the older sister of Kyouko Sakura. She was born blind, and her parents both prayed that she would regain her eyesight, but that never happened. She grew up separated from other children her age, with the only ones that she ever talked to being her two younger sisters, along with her parents. She learned to rely on hearing and touch in order to walk/navigate around, and as such, she has very perceptive hearing. 

She only heard stories of what the world looked like, and she became jealous of those that could see, including her sisters. That was when Kyubey approached her, as he had sensed her magical ability. She didn’t even take that long to decide on what her wish would be, as she wanted to see the world with her own eyes, and not just hear about what it looked like. As soon as she reached out to grab her soul gem, her vision cleared, and she could finally see what the world looked like for the first time in her 10 years of life.

At first, she only fought witches out of responsibility, but when she watched a group of people kill themselves because she took too long to destroy that witch, she began fighting so that no more innocents would pay the price because of her actions. She didn’t reveal her actions to her parents, as she had a feeling that they would react badly to the fact that God wasn’t the one who healed her sight. It was around this time that her father was excommunicated from the church due to his radical ideas, and her family slowly began starving as they had no money.

A few months passed by, when all of a sudden her father started to have people visit his church again. She found this odd, and that feeling only increased when she saw Kyouko leap out of her window one night. It was then that Megumi figured out that her sister was the reason that they were no longer starving, as she had made a contract with Kyubey as well. While she wasn’t exactly pleased to learn that, there wasn’t much that she could do, so she just had to deal with it.
